Weddings are always so stressful and they really shouldn’t be! It’s an epic day and should be exciting and fun, not feeling stressed because of XYZ. Follow these steps and I guarrantee you will have a stress free wedding!
Book The Important Things First
Many people make the big mistake of not booking the right vendors in advance. The vendors most likely to get booked up quickly are:
- The Venue
- The Photographer or Videographer
- The Band
Definitely think about booking a year in advance when searching for these vendors.
Don’t Like Planning? Hire A Wedding Planner
It’s simple, to take away ALL of the stress you should hire a wedding planner. Wedding planners are great for those who simply don’t have to the time to be worrying about this that and the other, who are too busy with work or life in general they just haven’t got the time.
To me, this seems like the most sensible thing to do. Give your family, friends, bridesmaids or whoever certain roles, it’s so important that they help you out on your big day because it takes so much stress off you.
Clear Your Week Before Your Wedding
This might sound weird to you but honestly it’s the way to go! Don’t schedule anything the week before your wedding, the last thing you want to do is be running around like a headless chicken with so many appointments to get to you don’t know what to do with yourself. Just clear it all and count down the days until your big day! 😉
Have Someone That Knows Your Dress
If you have a dress that needs doing up in a certain way ( mostly lace up dresses ) it’s essential that someone comes with you to fitting to help you do it up on the day. I have come across it a few times where the mother of the bride couldn’t be there for dress fitting so had no idea how to tie it up! Make sure someone knows what they are doing so that it can all go smoothly on the day. 🙂
Take Some Time Alone With Your Spouse
I actually wrote a blog post about this because I feel like it is so important to take some time away from everyone for just 5 minutes straight after you get married. Read more about it HERE.
So I have seen this quite a few times where the new Mr and Mrs don’t actually spend any time together at their own wedding. They are always trying to meet and greet every single guest that they forget to spend time together! Seriously, stay with each other as much as you can, you don’t have to say hello to EVERY single guest. They really won’t mind!
No Wedding Ever Goes Completely To Plan
It’s true, not ever have I seen a wedding where everything goes perfectly to plan. If you’re a proper planning nerd then you can by all means plan away! But don’t be disheartened if the day doesn’t end up going how you thought it would. You just have to embrace these things and the day will be better than you planned it.
Make Sure You Talk To Your Suppliers
If there is anything that is worrying you in the slightest about photography, videography, your hair, anything! Just make sure you and your suppliers are completely on the same page before your big day.
Realise What’s Important
It’s easy to get caught up in the motion, it’s easy to get upset because the weatherman lied. Honestly, it’s not the end if it rains on your wedding day, it’s not the end if the song skips a beat, those things aren’t important. The important thing is that you are both there and ready to marry each other.
Have A Good Time
The most important thing is to HAVE A GOOD TIME. Relax, have fun and take it all in! <3
